Yugi Moto

He is the main character of the story. Normally, he is a very nice and polite guy, even a pushover, until his other personality takes over. His mind is changed into another character who is smarter and stronger. First, Yugi didn't remember what happened afterwards. Finally, he can oenly communicate to the other character who in fact is the Pharaoh's soul of Egypt 3000 years ago. the soul jhas been sealed inside the Millennium Puzzle until Yugi can finish composing it. That lets the Pharao's soul free using Yugi's body as a vessel. Thus, Yugi has 2 hearts inside 1 mind.

his fellow freshmen at Domino High
School may only see him as the shy
type, Yugi's best friends, Joey, Tristan
and Tea know about his
secret talent. When Yugi was growing
up, his Grandfather gave him an ancient
Egyptian aretfact called the 'Millennium
Puzzle' to try and figure out. It is said
that whoever manages to solve this puzzle
will be granteddark and mysterious
powers. Yugi was eventually able to solve
the Millennium Puzzle, and when he did
something amazing happened!

A real goodfriend, Yugi is loyal and friendly. Sweet and innocent, he's a great guy!
Before he solved the Millennium Puzzle, Yugi was always reclusive and shy, playing with puzzles and games that he brought to class with the other students at his school.After conpleting the puzzle, though, he began to have moe confidence in himself and gained a circle of friends.
He used to fancy tea, a tiny bit, but has gottenover it, perhaps because he knows the person (?) she likes really is the Pharoah, Yami Yugi!!

Both Yugi and Yami have learnt each other's feelings through the battles. Anyway, Yami's soul doesn't remember anything about his past, why he was sealed inside the Millennium Puzzle, what his rel name is and what he is going to do next. Thus, he has to fight to recover his memory back.
When the Millennium Puzzle is
activated, Yugi is filled with it's
magical energies and becomes Yami
Yugi, his much more powerful alter
ego. Not only is Yami Yugi a master
dueller, but he is ful of confidence
and courage which help him
through difficult times during
his adventures.
He's really a mysterious guy, only showing up when Yugi's in big trouble and needs giudance. Not much is known about him, but in the words of Tea: he's a great guy 2!
Supposedly the 'dark side' of Yugi that appeared after Yugi put together the Millennium Puzzle, it is later revealed that he is actually a completely different entity who has no memory of who he is or where he is from. It is Yami Bakura who first reveals that the spirit was a Pharoah, then it is Isis who foretold of the upcoming battle for the Pharoah's memory. Having won the three God Cards in Battle City and seeing the secret protected by the Ishtar branch of the Tombkeeper Clan, he went ot the tablet on display at the Domino City Museum where he was pulled into a sealed memory of the past.

Grandpa

Even in his 40's he was travelling around the world, challenging and winning in various games. However, in the 1960's, his reputation was made when he survived to make it to the depths of one royal tomb in the Valley of the Kings, a feat that no-one in 3000 years has been able to do. it was there that he got the Millennium Puzzle (pieces). 20 years ago, Otogi Ryuji's father, an aprentice of Grandpa's, chalenged his master for the Puzzle. Grandpa won the cursed Egyptian game but the senior Otogi swore revenge for the aging curse that fell upon him, the defeated. It is unknown why between then and probably until Yugi was 8 (when he was given the puzzle box) that Grandpa dropped out from the gaming world and opened up a small shop in Domino City. Perhaps Grandpa did finally lose to someone and as once jokingly promised, gave up his tuxedo for overalls? The Blue Eyes White Dragon that he had, given to him by an American friend, was torn to pieces by Seto Kaiba after granpa lost to him in a Solid Vision Magic & Wizards Duel in the pre-opening ceremony of Kaiba Land. grandpa may be connected to the Millennia story, seeing as how he was saved from death by a phantom of the Pharoah in the tomb, a phantom that called him Simon.

especially well-versed in the ways

Tea is in love with the Pharoah and has been growing slightly depresed as he is getting closer and closer to regaining his memories. Recently, she bought a blank cartouche pendant on which the Pharoah can inscribe his name, his real name, once he remembers it. Secretly, she wishesto learn his real name as well.....

A nkown delinquent in junior high school, where he met Tristan, Joey somehow cleared up his act and made it to High School. He was still a bit of a bully though, picking on Yugi, however after Yugi took a beating for him and Tristan, Joey turned around and became Yugi's friend. in fact, he's pretty much Yugi's best friend short of the Pharoah, and is very good in a fight. His parents divorced when he was 10, his younger sister Serinety taken by their mother to the country and Joey remained with his father. A drunkard who apparently cannot keep a job, he is apparently saddled with a heavy debt that Joey works constantly to pay off as well as to pay for daily living expenses and school fee's. (Though Domino High forbids students to work, Joey is an exception and has school permission to do so.)

Serenity Wheeler

She is Joey's sister. When they were kids, their parents divorced and they hadn't seen each other for 7 years. Serenity had problem with her vision, and was blind. With the prize money that was given to Joey by Yugi from Duelist Kingdom, Joey paid for her operation.

Duke is the new guy in town. Well, he's also a jerk sometimes, but I'll get onto that later. He challenges Yugi to a game of dungeon dice, and gues what! He loses! I mean, come on!! He created the flippin' game!!! Well, he goes around with a style of his own, wearing a bandana and a dice earring. Also, he is a love sick puppy, and could be competition to Tristan. Both of them are in love with Serenity Wheler, much to her brother's hate. He hates it enough when one guy likes his sis, never mind 2!!! His attitude is kinda wierd, acting all charming one min, then dumb the next. But what can you say, he is a boy after all! LOL!! ;)

Mai Valentine

Mai is as pretty as she is dangerous...and
that's pretty dangerous! She's one of the top
duellists in the world and fights for the
riches that await only the best. Mai is not
above using her charm to get what she
wants. Though she plays for superficial
reason, Mai may yet learn from
Yugi's example.

Even though Kaiba is the wealthy C.E.O of
his own multinational and high-tech corporation,
KaibaCorp, his real passions lie in the world
of Duel Monsters. There, he uses his ruthless
business drive to overcome any who dare to
challenge him.
A high school student, nationally (internationally?) known game master, and president and chairman of Kaiba Corporation, there isn't a p[erson in Domino City who doesn't know who Seto Kaiba is. He is most likely the richest person in the city, which does assist him in getting his way, though simply based only on the spartan regime his foster father Gozaburou put him through, Kaiba is also a master businessman. Seto's mother died giving birth to Mokuba and their father died 3 years later. Their relatives packed them off to an orphanage to take the estate for themselves. It was there at the orphanage that Seto promised Mokuba that he would take care of him, become his father. He turned down offers of adoption because he refused to be seperated from Mokuba. When Seto was 10, Gozaburou came to their orphanage and Seto tricked Gozaburou into adopting the both of them by defeating him in a rigged game of chess(Seto used Gozaburou's own strategy against him). There are generally only 3 things dear to him, his younger brother Mokuba, Blue Eyes White Dragon, and Kaiba Corporation. Lay a finger on any of them and you've signed your own death sentence.
Kaiba has always been Yugi's rival. He is a self-conscious and self-controlled character. He had believed that he was the No.1 duelist with a great deck until he saw Yugi. Kaiba's personality changes after losing to Yugi. He looks cool and calm. As CEO of Kaiba Corporation, he runs the company by himself and always thinks about development of his portable dueling technologies. It is hard to believe that once upon a time, he was a priest, a Pharaoh's servant, who owned the Millennium Rod. At that time, there was an ancient battle that occured between him and Pharaoh. So, it leads Kaiba to continue the duel of destiny at the current time.

SUN SIGN INFORMATION: Born on October 25th of an unknown year and time of day, the only thing we can determine astrologically about Seto is his sun sign, which is Scorpio. What is a typical Scorpio like?

Kaiba's Ancient Past ( And when I say Past, I Mean Past!)

First Known Life: High Priest Seth (), Ancient Egypt, approx. 3000 years ago

Seth (or just Set, or Seto if you insist) was high priest of the god Ra to a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty whose name has been obliterated from all Ancient Egyptian record. (aka Yami Yuugi in the present day.) He was the bearer of the Sennen Rod in this time period, and even back then he commanded the Blue Eyes White Dragon (although it was called "the mythical white beast" or somesuch); he has been shown pitting his will and his monsters several times against other priests and sorcerers in the ancient Yami no Games. Apparently some incident happened between the Pharaoh and the High Priest which caused Seth to swear eternal rivalry with his sovereign...which seems to have carried over several lifetimes.
(In the PSX game Yuugiou: Forbidden Memories, Seth is not High Priest himself, but is the apprentice/right-hand-man of the priest Heishin. Personally, I prefer the anime interpretation.)

Second Known Life: Christian "Seto" Rozenkreuz (), Medieval England, 15th Century A.D.

Christian is from the PS2 game Yuugiou: Duelists of the Roses (which makes him not exactly canon--but no less fun!). He was a participant in the historical Wars of the Roses between the House of York and the House of Lancaster--Christian was on the side of the Yorkists (who used the white rose as their symbol), fighting against an incarnation of Yami Yuugi named Henry Tudor, who was on the side of the Lancastrians (symbolized by the red rose).

Current Life: Kaiba Seto (), Modern Japan, 20/21st Century A.D.

This Seto, naturally, is the one we know the most about. His parents both died at an early age (in the manga it's reported that his mother died giving birth to Mokuba, and their father died in a car accident when Mokuba was 3--this would make Seto 8 at the time); relatives refused to take the boys and they thus spent the next two years in a public orphanage, with Seto taking on the role of surrogate father to his younger brother. Many potential parents who visited were interested in adopting Seto, an obvious genius even at that young age, but none were willing to take Mokuba as well--and so Seto stayed.

None, that is, until Kaiba Gozaburo. One day when Seto was 10 and Mokuba 5, he arrived at the orphanage to hand out toys to the children (most likely as a corporate P.R. stunt, seeing as how Gozaburo ain't a particularly nice guy). Seto recognized him from a televised chess match--in addition to owning Kaiba Corporation, the old man was one of the foremost chess players in the world--and, knowing that this could be an opportunity to change his and Mokuba's lives forever, he challenged Gozaburo to a game of chess. The stakes? If Seto won, Gozaburo would adopt both him and Mokuba, making them heirs to Kaiba Corporation and its assets.

(A clarification: This wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision on Seto's part. He'd had this idea around the time he saw the chess match, and had been studying all of Gozaburo's published chess books furiously, hoping to use Gozaburo's own strategies against him.)

At first Gozaburo laughed off the challenge, asking the little boy, 'Do you know who I am?' But something about Seto convinced him to humor the child, and they sat down to play a game that would change everything.

Seto won. He won the chess game, the name of Kaiba, the right to someday inherit Kaiba Corporation, a secure future for himself and his brother. He also won a world of pain.

In order to "prepare" his adopted son for the rigors of life as a CEO, Gozaburo instituted "training" measures that would be considered not just abusive but sadistic by many people. In the manga Seto is shown with a dog collar around his neck, forced to study nonstop, as Gozaburo stands over him leering and holding a riding crop under his chin. Takahashi-sensei leaves the rest of the details to the vivid (unfortunately, in this case) imaginations of the readers.

Those nightmarish years were the ones that defined Kaiba's personality. Somehow, holding onto his precious games as a respite and a ray of hope in his life, Seto managed to endure, and came out of that period with his sanity relatively intact. But he would never again be the sad, gentle little boy with dreams of a better life. Under Gozaburo's "tutelage" he became cold, hard, ruthless: the perfect businessman. Only when he was with Mokuba did he let his guard down. And in the end, Gozaburo reaped what he had sown--his perfectly-cultivated heir pulled Kaiba Corporation out from under him. 6 years after becoming a Kaiba, with the backing of the Big 5 and Mokuba's and his own shares of the company stock, Seto held a controlling portion, enough to claim the CEO position for himself.

Accounts differ on what happened, but all agree on one thing: Seto and Gozaburo were in the Kaiba Corporation CEO's office one day. They talked. And Kaiba Gozaburo died. In the first series anime, Seto threatened to push Gozaburo out the window of the tall skyscraper, and the old man had a heart attack. In the manga, Seto didn't have to threaten, or to push: Gozaburo conceded defeat. 'The strong will survive, and the weak must die.' The old man jumped from the window, ending his reign as CEO.

Under Seto's ownership, Kaiba Corporation started out in a radically different direction. The high-tech weapons and military programs produced under Gozaburo were scrapped, and Seto turned the company toward creating sophisticated, high-tech games. When Seto developed an interest in Duel Monsters/Magic and Wizards is unknown (in the anime, evidently he had been a fan since before he became a Kaiba, but it's unknown whether this is canon for the manga), but shortly after the switch of ownership (well, it has to have been shortly--in the manga he took over at age 16, which means at the present he's been CEO for a year at the very most), Kaiba Corporation began to produce special arenas in which the card game could be played using "Solid Vision" 3-D holographic technology. Seto had a theme park called Kaiba Land built to showcase these duel rings.

Sometime during this period, Seto became widely known as a world champion Duel Monsters player, and he acquired his first three Blue Eyes White Dragon cards. When he learned the fourth belonged to an old man named Mutou Sugoroku--grandfather of our hero, Yuugi--he endeavored to have it by any means necessary. He ended up forcing Sugoroku into a duel at one of Kaiba Corporation's special arenas; the Solid Vision technology was too much for the old man's heart, and Sugoroku fainted. When Yuugi arrived to save his grandfather, Kaiba ripped the fourth Blue Eyes in half, and the boy was so angry that he challenged Kaiba to a duel. Kaiba easily overpowered Yuugi in the beginning of the match with his Blue Eyes--there was only one, almost totally impossible way for Yuugi to win--

And he did it. Yami Yuugi summoned the legendary monster Exodia and defeated Kaiba. Trying to show Seto that the cards were about more than acquiring power, Yami Yuugi used his Mind Crush ability to purge the darkness from Kaiba's soul. (The manga differs on this account--there, Mind Crush threw Seto into a coma for months.)

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is where history leaves off and Duelist Kingdom begins.

Kaiba's TRUE Goals

Season One: Duelist Kingdom

1. Get the fourth Blue Eyes
In the first episode, Kaiba wants to take the Blue Eyes White Dragon card from Grampa. This eventually leads to a duel with Yugi, which he loses despite overwhelming odds in his favor, due to Yami Yugi managing to assemble all five pieces of Exodia. Yami Yugi tries to show Seto that the cards represent more than just power; he "punishes" Kaiba by purging the darkness from his soul.
Result: Mixed success

2. Figure out how he could have lost to Yugi
As far as the viewers know, Seto's defeat by Yugi was his first ever. Kaiba is extremely upset by this loss, which seemed to come out of nowhere; he spends a long period of time trying to determine how it could've been possible for Yugi to be so unbelievably lucky. Seto goes on hiatus, staying by himself in a house away from Domino, in order to work intensively on this problem (he also assembles the prototype Duel Disks during this time); the Big 5 are able to capture Mokuba in his absence. Later, when Seto goes after his brother, he decides he knows why Yugi was able to come back from behind--Yugi was fighting for someone he cared about.
Result: Success

3. Defeat Yugi-->Defeat Pegasus-->Rescue Mokuba
In a plot with the Big 5 executives of Kaiba Corporation to steal the company out from under Seto's feet, Pegasus arranges to have Mokuba captured (the Kaiba Corporation ownership contract is held in a room under lock and key, and only Mokuba knows where the key is--in fact, it's inside the twin lockets he and his brother wear). Pegasus seals Mokuba's soul inside a card and informs Seto that he'll return it if Kaiba can defeat him in a Duel Monsters match--but Seto must earn the right to face Pegasus by first defeating Yugi. Kaiba manages, through some underhanded and rather suicidal tactics, to beat Yugi in a duel, but when he goes up against Pegasus he is not so lucky. Pegasus steals his soul, and it is only later that both he and Mokuba are rescued when Yugi manages to defeat the Duel Monsters creator.
Result: Failure (Mokuba was saved, but not by Seto...)

Season One: Yugi vs. Rebecca
Kaiba did not appear (although the duel took place at Kaiba Land, and Mokuba had a bit part).

Season One: Duel Monsters Quest

1. Take revenge on the Big 5
Kaiba intended to fire the Big 5 due to the treacherous deal they made with Pegasus, but when they offered him a deal--they'd leave peacefully if Kaiba could beat the virtual game, Duel Monsters Quest, that they'd created while he was gone--he agreed to their terms, even though he knew he was walking into a trap. Despite the game being rigged against him, with Mokuba's help he managed to escape capture within the game, and together with Yugi he defeated the final boss. The Big 5, who were controlling the boss's actions, were trapped inside the virtual world.
Result: Success

Season One: Dungeon Dice Monsters
Kaiba did not appear.

Season Two: Battle City

1. Collect all three God Cards for himself
At the beginning of Battle City, when he received the God of Obelisk card, Kaiba decided that the best way to become an unbeatable duelist would be to assemble all three of them.
Result: Unknown (as of now Kaiba is still working toward this goal)

2. Lure duelists to Domino City-->Congregate rare cards in the city-->Lure Ghouls members out of hiding-->Find the God Card thief
At Isis's request, Kaiba held the Battle City tournament in order to attract Ghouls, the group of Rare Hunters who stole two of the God Cards. Just as planned, once duelists holding rare cards began to show up in the city, Ghouls members followed.
Result: Success

3. Enter the Battle City finals
Kaiba entered his own tournament in order to gain a chance to face Yuugi once again. He gained the required six Puzzle Cards to discover the location of the finals, and was in fact the first competitor to make it to the final stadium site. (Sasuga shachou... :P)
Result: Success

Season Two: Battle Ship

1. Defeat Yugi

Season Two: Duel World (Deck Masters)

1. Defeat the Big 5
Kaiba Corporation's executives, stuck in the virtual world, in turn trapped the duelists on the Battle Ship in an attempt to avenge themselves on Seto. Kaiba and the other duelists battled against the Big 5, in duels that used the special Deck Master System, in order to keep the Big 5 from stealing their bodies. Other duelists met mixed success, but Kaiba himself managed to win the duel placed for him and kept his body. The Big 5 were thwarted several times by Yuugi and company and were eventually deleted by Noa due to their incompetence.
Result: Success

2. Discover Noa's identity
Noa looks an awful lot like a young Seto... He explained personally to Kaiba that he was Gozaburo's true son, and while traveling through the virtual world, Kaiba found a memory of the day Noa died. Faced with this discrepancy, Noa admitted that he was dead, but explained his consciousness was kept alive in a computer system by Gozaburo.
Result: Success

3. Defeat Noa-->Save Mokuba
In his attempts to surpass Seto in every way, Noa decided that the most important thing Seto had which he did not was Mokuba--and proceeded to suppress the boy's memories and control his mind. Kaiba dueled Noa to a standstill and could have won the match if he'd used his Twilight Zone Dragon, but instead chose to summon Blue Eyes, hoping to reawaken Mokuba's memories. Mokuba was brought back to his senses and rushed toward his niisama's side, but this gave Noa an opening to winning the duel, and he immediately retaliated--the Kaiba brothers were turned to stone, arms stretched toward each other but never to touch.
This might sound like the end of the story--but Yami Yugi wouldn't allow it. He stepped up to the dueling field and finished the battle on Seto's behalf, defeating Noa and in the end saving everyone.

4. Defeat Gozaburo-->Find a way out
Upon Noa's defeat it was revealed that Gozaburo too had preserved his consciousness inside a computer system. He appeared to inform the group that neither Seto nor Noa were needed any longer--he would take care of his Kaiba Corporation. Gozaburo sealed all the exits from the virtual world, preventing the group from returning to their physical bodies. While Yugi and company followed Noa in the hopes of finding a secret exit, Kaiba ranged off on his own after Gozaburo, intending to force the man to open a way out. Gozaburo challenged Seto to a duel.

Kaiba's Personality Analysis

The face Kaiba presents to the world is a cold, hard one. To Yuugi and friends he appears unfriendly, to say the least--he is standoffish, rude, abrupt, and as often as not insulting and haughty toward those he considers beneath his status. As both businessman and duelist he gives no quarter, ruthlessly exploiting the weaknesses of his opponents and anticipating that they will do the same. However, he has a sense of fairness and justice, and prefers to play within the rules for the most part. Beyond expressions of self-assured arrogance, contempt, anger, and occasionally shock, most of what goes on in Kaiba's mind is not apparent to the average observer.

Seto is driven both by a desire to care for his brother, and by his own personal demons. Most of the accomplishments he has made in life had Mokuba as their catalyst--if he hadn't wanted to stay with the other boy, Kaiba could have been adopted by a loving family; if he hadn't wanted to give Mokuba a better life, he might never have played chess with Gozaburo on that pivotal day. His love for his brother has helped shape him into the person he is today, and Seto clings to Mokuba as he does no one else.

Despite the fact that Gozaburo is dead, leaving him the company, it appears Kaiba is still striving to prove that he is a worthy heir to the corporation--a better businessman, a better strategist--striving to prove that in their personal duel, he won and Gozaburo lost. No matter how often he states in the series that "the past means nothing to me", Seto cannot seem to put the past behind him and move on with his life. He's one of the most advantaged people in the world--he has money, power, intelligence, beauty, loving family, and friends of a sort...but marred by his own personal tragedies, he can see very little of goodness or worth in his own life. Kaiba continues on because he has to--he would never abandon Mokuba--but that doesn't mean he gets much enjoyment out of life. Despite this hopelessness, there is a definite arrogant side to Kaiba's personality. He feels a certain pride in his own accomplishments--his record as a duelist especially seems to be meaningful to him. Just as in his life, Seto has always used power and the pursuit of it to reach his goals in dueling, and this is what distresses him so when Yuugi manages to pull a win out of nowhere for the sake of his grandfather--Yuugi didn't just beat him in a game of cards, he shook Kaiba's entire dueling philosophy--his entire life philosophy.

First and foremost, Seto is a survivor. When there's a means to reach his goal, no matter how small the chances or high the cost, he uses it--whether that means studying the chess strategies of a six-time world champion via his books, or using the manpower of his corporation to kidnap someone who has something he wants, or threatening his own life in order to make another person back down. He claims not to believe in "occult nonsense" like the Sennen Items' mystical powers and the existence of the yamis, but he trusts in what he has seen to work, whether magical or not, and is willing to use it to his advantage. He has worked toward power on his own in the past--with all odds against him, he would never have gotten where he is in life if he hadn't fought tooth and nail for it--but as long as his goals are met he really doesn't care how. He didn't have to work for Obelisk, after all, but accepted it readily and used it often. Kaiba is a pragmatist--he uses the resources at hand, and he believes in what he can see and experience for himself.

Seto's Name Revealed

Ever wanted to know about what Kaiba's name actually means? Well, now you can!

The complex characters that most Japanese names are written in were originally borrowed from Chinese. The Japanese call them kanji. Each kanji has a specific set of meanings and pronunciations.

KAI

This kanji means "ocean" or "sea". When in a compound word (like Kaiba) it is pronounced 'kai', but when it stands on its own, it's pronounced 'umi'.

BA

The meaning of this kanji is "horse". In addition to 'ba', this kanji can also be pronounced 'ma' or 'uma'. (Note: Putting together "sea" and "horse" does not produce the Japanese word for "seahorse". The Japanese name for that animal is "tatsu no otoshigo" which translates to something else entirely.)

SE

This kanji means "current", "shallows", "rapids", "shoal", and a couple other things along those lines. (Contrary to popular fandom rumor, 'Seto' does NOT mean turmoil.) It can also be pronounced 'rai'.

Dueling Strategies!

For the most part, Kaiba's dueling deck relies on powerful monster cards alone to deplete the opponent's Life Points, without many special gimmicks or tricks. Kaiba does add a single twist, however--his favored Deck Destruction Virus strategy--which leads him, at one point, to term his construction a "Virus Combo Deck".

Duelist Kingdom

Commonly played cards: Minotauros (Battle Ox), Dark Clown Master Sagii, Rude Kaiser
Hard-hitters: Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Deck Destruction Virus of Death (Crush Card)

During Duelist Kingdom Kaiba's main strategy seems to revolve around waiting it out, playing with the opponent until he can get one or more Blue Eyes onto the field and crush them with it. A secondary plan his deck relies on is depleting an opponent's powerful monster cards via the Deck Destruction Virus. He seems to save the Ultimate Dragon only for those adversaries he considers worthy--he summoned it only once, in the tower duel against Yugi (though I don't think he would've turned down the opportunity to use it against Pegasus either, if that had been possible).

Battle City

Hard-hitters: The God of Obelisk, Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Deck Destruction Virus of Death (Crush Card)

The main aim of Kaiba's Battle City deck is painfully obvious--get Obelisk out as soon as possible (generally accompanied by maniacal laughter and shouts of "I'll show you God" n.n;;;;) and the opponent is basically toast. Three monsters are required as sacrifice per Battle City rules; more than once Kaiba has gotten a couple Blue Eyes on the field and opted to trade them, along with other monsters, for Obelisk whenever it comes into his hand. He has also kept the Deck Destruction Virus as a secondary strategy.

Mokuba wants to help his brother in any way possible, feeling that he is the only one who understands his brother and why he behaves the way he does (Mokuba may be right by this) and most likely feels guilty that the cause for all of this is himself. Mokuba is more open-hearted than his brother, hence why he was able to become friends with Yugi and company even if he hated them at first. very often, Mokuba is the only person who can talk 'sense' to Seto and serve as a breaker to Seto's giant waves. By the way, he is the champion of a game called Monster Capsule Chess.
Overall, he's a real sweet kid!!

Bakura

A transfer student (from another school in Japan!) who befriends Yugi and company. His favourite game is a Table Top Role Playing Game called Monster World in which he is the game master. However, it turns out that another personality in the Millennium Ring had been stealing the souls of his other player friends and then tried to do the same with his latest friends. Bakura died to save Yugi and the others but his 'player character' in Monster World used a spell to give up his own life for his masters. Bakura is very interested in the occult and the origin of the Milennium Items. This interest may stem with some fixation he has on his younger Amane to whom he was seen writing a letter once (she's dead). Bakura has only cofronted his 'Dark Side' once, that was when he died, but he is still highly attatched to the Ring and wears it always despite everyone else's wariness of it.
Bakura got the Millenium Ring when his father went to Egypt. He said that he was 'destined' to have it. But this item also holds a dark secret.....

So for now, he's cooperating and assisting Yugi in helping the Pharoah... but he doesn't plan to leave any lose ends behind once he's gotten what he wants.

the son of a Las Vegas tycoon, he fell in love with one of his father's associates' daughters called Celilia. the feeling was mutual. They were planning thier future together, as Pegasus apparently was a popluar and talented painter, when Cecilia died od disease at age 17. Afterwards, Pegasus fell into a deep depresion, somehow finding himself in Egypt, interested in their myths regarding death and reincarnation. It was there that he accidentaly came across Shadi testing a man for stealing the Millennium Ring. For seeing what should not have been seen, Shaid had him tested to bear the Eye, saying that if he ws accepted he would be granted a wish. Pegasus took out his own eye and amidst the pain apparently saw Celilia again (whether this was really a granted wish or simply the delusion from mental and instability is unkonwn). With the Eye, Pegasus began the creation of the card game Magic & Wizards (Duel Monsters). His involvement with Yugi came about because of the clause the Big 5 of Kaiba Corporation (KC) laid before him if he wanted thier support in taking over the corporation during Seto's coma. Pegasus wanted KC in order to get their Solid Vision technology to make a life-like hologram of Cecilia. Had he lived, he would probably never have been able to get away from his obsession with his dead lover. As it is, Yami Bakura killed Pegasus and took his Millennium Eye.
Sophisticated and cultured, Pegasus is

continuously speak in rhyme and riddle,
which tends to confuse their opponents.

Mako Sunami

Since his father was lost at
sea, Mako has been duelling
to earn enough money to
buy a boat so he can
try to find him.
His determination
is something to
be comended.

Rex Raptor

He came second in the Regional Championships. He lost the 1st rank to Weevil. Rex had a Red-Eyes B. Dragon, but he lost it in a bet with Joey over the outcome of a duel. If Rex won, then he got Joey's Time Wzard, but if he lost, then he had to give Joey his dragon. He is also very competative with Yugi and Joey, and very good friends with Weevil.

Weevil Underwood

Weevil has the warped idea that
cheating and being a sneak is the
only way to win a duel. His deck is
infested wth insect monsters and he
is confident that his bugs will take
him to the top.

Odion

Odion is a sworn sevant to Marik Ishtar. he was a son of the Ishtar's until Marik was born. Odion was found by Marik's mother, who died during marik's birth. Odion has always remained loyal to Marik, not as a servant, but as a friend.
Odion is a card hunter who serves
Marik to hunt down and defeat
duellists with rare monsters in their
decks. Once he defeats his opponents
he takes their decks and gives
them to Marik, his master.

Claiming to be an apostle of Anubis, this Egyptian man bearing not one but two Millennium Items first appeared before Yugi in the Domino City Museum where the findings of a new tomb excavation were on display. he is the winged eath, the curse that is said to kill those who defile the royal tombs. Using the Millennium Ankh (Key), he put the Pharoah through a series of deadly 'games' in order to test to see if this spirit of the Puzzle was truly who he thought he was. Shadi has been working to protect the Millennium Items and to prepare for the Pharaoh's return. Seven years ago in Egypt when Pegasus met him, there were four items in the Stone of Memory (Scale, Ankh, Eye and Ring). Five years ago, he appeared before young Isis and Marik in a crowded marketplace proclaimingthe Pharaoh was soon to awaken and then (halfway out of a wall this time!) after Marik found his murdered father. Yami Bakura seems to recognize or know Shadi from somewhere as well though that has yet to be explained. It was Shadi who sent Bobasa to meet the Pharaoh in Domino City after Battle City though he was nowhere to be seen, his items were already in the guardianship of Bobasa.
Shadi is the Guardian of the
Millennium Items and the owner of
the Millenium Key and Scale which
he uses to enter opponents minds.
Not an evil man, just very, very
mysterious.

COMMENT: Shadi as a ghost? That thing about only half appearing out of a wall is a good indicator. however there is also a bit of inconsistancy in the manga with his art. He is much older when Yugi met him than he was in the flashbacks with Pegasus and Marik. A theory is that Shadi himself is only a spirit tjhat manifests through the power of the Ankh. As such, the person Yugi met in the museum was a tombkeeper clan member who willingly allowed Shadi to possess his bodies in order to complete his duties. In addition, though Bobasa said it was by Shadi's orders that he came, he also said "by the will of the Ankh/Key". And since Bobasa was able to use the Ankh to allow the group to enter into the Pharoah's Soul Room within the Milennium Puzzle, Shadi might in fact be 'residing' within Bobasa even now. How long Shadi has been in this condition is unknown but he seems to not know enough to have been as old of a spirit as either the Pharaoh or Yami Bakura.

She is resinged to a dark fate, perhaps a result of the atmosphere of despair and darkness that she was raised in underground. She is as much sister as mother to her brother since thier mother died giving birth to a hier to the family. She came to Japan as a member of the Egyptian government, the division that deals with the care of Egyptian historical artifacts though the majority of the display items were in fact the ones from the private care of the Ishtar Clan. BothKaiba and the Pharaoh have given her hope, the former the hope that the future is not set and the latter in restoring her brother.
Isis is an expert in Ancient
Egypt.With the power of her
Millennium Bracelet, she can
see both the past and the
future. She uses this knowledge
to help prevent her brother

The appearance of Shadi when his father died caused Marik to think that the Pharaoh was responsible for his father's death and set Marik on the path to sabotaging the Pharaoh's return and taking his place. he founded the GHOULS to search for the God Cards which were needed to unlock the Pharoah's memories and used the Rod to keep control of his 'people'. After his possesion by Yami Marik, Marik is resolved to live with his guilt and has fulfilled his clan's duty to Pharaoh.

Once Risid fell to Ra's divine anger, Yami Marikwas able to force Marik aside and come out. All he desires is destruction, of everyone, everything, and the world in general. Fully thriving on the power of Darkness, believeing himself 'chosen' by the Rod, he offers sacrifices (Mai and Bakura) to the Dakness in exchange for more power. however, in the end, he was defeted by Marik who succeeded in pushing back his dark side and banishing it to Yami.
As dark and as evil as Marik is,

Left by the well no the surface above the Ishtar's underground home, Rishid was adpoted by the late Mrs. Ishtar. The late Mr. Ishtar, Marik's and Isis's father, only saw Rishid as a servant though Rishid desperatly wanted to be recognized by the man. He is very devoted to Marik, willing to share the pain of the Ishtar's family's traditional scarring as well as accompanying Marik when he broke the clan rules and left to form the GHOULS. Like Isis, he knows about Marik's dark personality and he knows that his presence can keep that darker side form coming out.

Amelda

Amelda sorley wants revenge on Kaiba. back when Gonsaburo Kaiba was head of kaiba , (Kaiba's stepfather) Kaiba Corp was a military station. The army shot down Amelda's little brother. Amelda blames Seto for this, as he is CEO of Kaiba Corp at present.

Dartz

Dartz is the reincarnation of Dartez, an Atlantean who met the downfall at his own son's hand. He plans to ressurect his Queen, and take over the world now that his son has been put to rest.

Duke Devlin

He is a new student in Yugi's class. His profesional game is Duel Dice Monsters. He created it, under the watchful eye of his idol, Maximillion Pegasus.

Noa Kaiba

Noa is the real son of Gonsaburo Kaiba. This character is out of the original comic series. He died when he was young. In order to survive, he has lived in the virtual world, o technology of Kaiba Corporation, for many years. he has been watching Seto and Mokuba since they became adopted children of Gonsaburo after his death. Also, he is waiting for the time to take over a body to get out of the virtual reality world.

Raphael

Raphael was a rich kid. But then on a cruise in the Atlantic, the boat sank and all of his family died. he strived to live for 5 years on an island before he was found. He then joined DOOM in hope of getting revenge.

varion

Varion grew up in an orphanage. His parents died when he was very young, and the orphanage became his home. But then some thief set it on fire, and Varion killed him for it. Varion was sent to jail, and was imprisoned on an island-prison. But the island was a training camp for DOOM, and with Varion at the top of the group, he entered into the service of DOOM.

The Story So Far...

So, as u can guess, the story is about Yugi and Duel Monsters.
U av met all the main characters from all the series, so i don't need to explain them 2 u.
Pegasus challenged Yugi 2 a duel after hearing that he beat Seto kaiba, the champion! He thought he couldn't b beaten coz he was a champ. Yami Yugi lost the duel so Pegasus took his prize, Grampa's soul! He took it to make Yugi play the sick games that he wants.
So Pegasus opened the Duelist Kingdom Tournament and Yugi and Joey enter, hoping tobeat Pegasus at his own game. On the boat ride to the tournament, Weevil Underwood takes a look at Yugi's pieces of Exodia, and throws them over the side of the boat! He had been trying to come up with a strategy to beat Exodia, but could think up of none, apart from getting rid of him!! Joey tried to get all the pieces bck by jumping off the boat, but he only found 2.This is where he explained the reason for him entering the tournament was for his sister, because she was going blind, and the money could pay for an operation to save her sight!!
The very first duel takes place between Yugi and Weevil, as revenge for getting rid of Exodia. It starts to get tough when he brings out his most unstoppable (yeah right! try telling Yugi that!) monster called the Great Moth. I'll get into a list of episodes and explain about em on my next page!!
After ages, Yugi get's to pegasus's castle and defeats him after about 4 to 5 episodes. Pegasus releases the souls he kidnapped (including Kaiba's and Mokuba's!) since he is a man of his words. It was then that we found out the he was only doing this for his love, Cecilia! They knew each other since they were kids and when they were about to get married, she fell ill. He found a way of combining the Millennium Items and the technology of Kaiba Corp so he could save her.
Aww, al that for a girl! Not ;)
